1ST Anime BEACH PARTAY - Salisbury Beach STATE RESERVATION
| Date: |
Saturday, June 14, 2008 |
| Time: |
12:00pm - 6:00pm |
| Location: |
Salisbury Beach STATE RESERVATION |
| Street: |
State Reservation Road |
| City/Town: |
Salisbury, MA |
WHERE: Salisbury Beach, in the reservation part of it.
MEET UP location: Drive to the very last parking lot near the playground, and arrive at the BEACH there! (There is only ONE playground!)
TIME: SATURDAY, JUNE 14TH, 12 P.M. till 5 or 6 P.M. depending on how many people show up, then an after-dinner get together at Friendly’s in Amesbury. (ON HOLD)
DIRECTIONS:
From Rte. 95: Take exit 58A to Newburyport and the intersection with Rte. 110 east. Follow Rte. 110 East to Salisbury and the intersection with Rte. 1a North. Turn right on Rte. 1a and follow it 2 miles to the Park entrance on the right.
From Rte. 495: Take Rte. 495 to exit 55 and the intersection with Rte. 110. Follow Rte 110 East to Salisbury and the intersection with Rte. 1a north. Follow Rte. 1a north approximately 2 miles to the Park entrance on the right.
INFO: This will be held at the beach reservation. The directions are listed above. After you enter the road to get there, you will come up to a building where you have to pay $7 for a days pass for a car, so carpooling is recommended. BRING MONEY because there are snacks and stands near the beach if you want to buy something, plus after the reunion, there will be a dinner held at Friendly’s in Amesbury (CURRENTLY ON HOLD) which everyone will come across if they get off of 495, but please email me or IM me if you need help finding it. Cosplay is welcome, but remember, this is a beach event so I do not recommend it if you want to go in the water. Also, if you are going to cosplay, remember, there are a lot of other people around you at the beach so DO NOT bring any fake weapons at all or any costumes that might be questionable, especially since the police station is down there, because it takes only one person to look at you the wrong way to get into trouble. There are also arcades down at Salisbury beach and food places, but these are outside of the reservation, so if you want to go there, it will cost money to park, unless you are lucky enough to find a parking space without paying anything.
ADDITIONAL INFO (Added 4/28/08): I have talked to the reservation office and anyone can bring their own grill AS LONG AS THEY KEEP IT ON THE PARKING LOT NEXT TO THEIR CAR AND TAKE CARE OF IT. You CANNOT bring a grill onto Salisbury Beach itself since it is illegal, but as long as you keep it in the parking lot and put out your own fire after that, you will be fine.
Also, since there are going to be a lot of people showing up to this event, I am officially putting the Friendly's after-dinner event on hold because obviously their restaurant can only hold so many people :P
Anime Boston Reunion SEXY BEACH PARTY

Time:
12:00pm - 10:00pm
Location:
NAHANT BEACH! (the one with LESS/NO SEAWEED)
Street:

Directions
If you're driving from the NORTH, you want to drive 129 SOUTH until it intersects with LYNN SHORE DRIVE - keep driving south, until you reach a rotary AND signs will point you to NAHANT BEACH.
If you're driving from the SOUTH, you want to take ROUTE 1A NORTH until you reach the rotary, and then the signs will point you to NAHANT BEACH.
You will definitely arrive at a rotary, before you enter this beach (and there will be signs at the BEACH). AGAIN READ THE MAP!!
WHAT IS THIS MADNESS?!:
A large-scale otaku-filled beach adventure! Kinda. We'll just gather at the beach and frolic in the sun! Like all of the other Reunions, bring some FOOD! But because we're gathering at a beach bring YOUR OWN TOWELS and other beach needs. Wanna cosplay? Go ahead, but I expect most of us to be in swimsuit attire!
DIRECTIONS:
MBTA: You'll want to get off at WONDERLAND on the BLUE LINE and look across the street! There's the beach!
!~~IMPORTANT~~! DO NOT GET OFF AT THE REVERE BEACH STOP. Yes, it has beach in the title, and makes the most sense, but we'll be at a different PART of the beach, so make sure you get off at WONDERLAND!
Anime Reunion Group Fourth of July Party
| Date: |
Friday, July 4, 2008 |
| Time: |
12:00pm - 11:00pm |
| Location: |
Charleston River |
| City/Town: |
Boston, MA |
ANIME BOSTON REUNION'S 4th OF JULY FIREWORKS PARTY!
WHERE:
It will be held on the CHARLES RIVER. The river that divides Boston and Cambridge.
WHERE, EXACTLY?!:
The Charles River is quite long and somewhat hard to navigate, but DO NOT FEAR! Fireworks start around 8pm, but we will get there at 12pm, and we'll set up camp! Blankets, food, etc. ONLY ONCE SET UP, will we have a DEFINITE LOCATION. Obviously, numbers will be handed out to those commuting by MBTA or those unfamiliar with the area. We will give out landmarks of what we're near.
DIRECTIONS:
For those of you taking the MBTA, travel on the RED LINE, and get off at CHARLES/MGH. Once you get off, you'll be able to SEE the river!
INFO:
Like all of the Anime Boston Reunions, everyone is encouraged to cosplay, bring food, and have fun! We'll have all the fun we usually do! If you want to wander off, FEEL FREE TO DO SO! But we'll have a CAMP GUARD GROUP at all times, to protect our location! Because once the fireworks start, it's hard to maintain our location. A LOT of people go here each year for fireworks, so holding our ground is VERY IMPORTANT.
So, we encourage all to come early and bring a big sheet (even a cheap one) to lay out, so we may CLAIM space for our comfortable firework-viewing pleasure.
The Beach #3 (thus far) a.k.a. Otakus invade the FORT!
| Date: |
Saturday, July 12, 2008 |
| Time: |
12:00pm - 8:00pm |
| Location: |
Fort Phoenix |
| City/Town: |
Fairhaven, MA |
For the first time evar, we're holding an Anime Boston Reunion south of Boston, in scenic Fairhaven. It came to me (Jace) as an idea to follow through on knowing that there are cosplayers from south of Boston that would love to go to the Beach gatherings, or even the gatherings at the gazebo, but just don't have the means of transportation to get there. So as such, we're inviting you to our neck of the woods for some epic fun at the Fort.
What is it?
Potluck Picnic, as per usual. Bring the food and there will be much rejoicing and merriment
Dress code?
Summer stuff. Swimsuits are welcome, as well as cosplay. Don't forget to bring towels and such.
What's going on?
Photoshoots, Fun @ the Playground, impromptu pseudo-rave on a ghettoblaster, general beach/park craziness (they got b-ball & tennis courts,) and anything else people can suggest.
How do I get there?
Prepare for some highway hopping people.
